These chalk pieces were a little smaller than expected, but the colors were SO BRIGHT! I was impressed with how vibrant they were. So even though they were shorter than some other brands, they last longer because you don’t have to color over and over to darken the colors. Includes all ROYGBV colors of the rainbow.

These are awesome! They came well packaged to avoid breaking in transit. All of ours arrived whole with no damage. There’s at least 20 pieces per box. My 18 month old loves using these inside on his easel chalkboard and outside on the driveway. They will break if dropped, but not nearly as easy as regular chalk. I’m very happy with this purchase.

I typically buy the Crayola brand pencil shaped chalk. My 4 year old chalks daily so we have some experience with chalk. See TDL at bottom. I was hosting a 5 year olds birthday party so I wanted a little more bulk for less to give out as prizes. This is half the price of Crayola brand of identical looking chalk. Crayola brand is a little fatter pencil shape so you might get a smidgen more chalk per pencil. However, both brands have the same pros and cons. Both are very bright colors. vivid and beautiful. Both pencil chalks are thinner then standard chalk so I find as we get to the bottom of the chalk, there are more finger scraps on cement. I end up taking the last inch away for this reason to play with myself once widdled down. Both break fairly easy, it is chalk which is not the most sturdy material, but old school tube sidewalk chalk breaks less. An extra con of Crayola brand is, even though it’s slightly bigger, it’s a lot softer. The Crayola brand blends better but breaks so much more. Since it’s so soft, it goes a lot quicker too. So the one stick will only last you a day of serious chalking. While I won’t admit the genetic brand lasts a ton longer, it doesn’t break as bad or go as fast.TDL: Crayola pencil chalk – great for older kids or those wanting to actually make sidewalk art.Generic pencil chalk – thinner for small hands, very vivid colors, we do a lot of chalk math problems. My son is 4 and this is my favorite for us.Standard cheap tube chalk – dollar store, 16 sticks for a dollar. Can you beat that price? Probably not. So cheap and easy. Great on a trampoline. Last what feels like forever. We keep this in my car for random outtings so if they are lost/shared/damaged we don’t care. Not as vivid, not as pretty, harder for small small hands. Less color options.
