What Is A Christmas Advent Calendar?
The Advent calendar is a countdown calendar that begins on December 1st and ends on December 24th (the eve of Christmas Eve). Each day has a window that opens up to reveal a sweet treat or small gift. Most Advent calendars come with 24 windows but some have 25 or more. Most Advent calendars have different items behind each window, such as chocolate Santas or small toys like elves or snowmen. Some people save their Advent calendars until Christmas Eve while others enjoy them daily during December.
What Types of Christmas Advent Calendars Are There?
There are many different types of advent calendars that you can buy. Some use chocolate coins as prizes and some use small toys or other items instead of chocolate coins. Others have pictures behind each door instead of doors or windows because they are not made out of paper like most others do. Some even have electronic versions that play music when you open them!
Advent Calendar Christmas
Toys- If you want to give your kids toys throughout December, then consider putting one in each window of the advent calendar. You could also use this as an opportunity to teach them about generosity by asking them not to open their own window — instead they should pass it on to someone else who might enjoy it more than they do!
