My horse obsessed daughter is so excited to give these out to her classmates. She was so delighted when they arrived today. While she’s excited, I’m underwhelmed–due to design flaws I’d estimate the fair market value of these critters as half of its current price. The unicorn’s head faces backwards when inside the egg, and my 10 year old couldn’t figure it out on her own and needed my help to reorient it when opened. Since the tail and head are tucked inside the body when in the egg, this leaves a large gaping hole on the underside when it’s unfolded, so its backside and underbelly look deformedly skinny. Finally, the Valentines are actually very long stickers that are supposed to be stuck directly on the egg. The card designs are cute, but no matter how you position it a 6 inch long flat rectangle will not adhere neatly to the curvature of an egg. The adhesive is very unforgiving–it sticks to the plastic almost immediately and tears if you try to reposition it. And there are exactly 12 of these Valentine sticker labels, so if you mess up you’re screwed.
