For Halloween we have a very large display. One corner of the yard we call the Area 51 section and I’m always on the lookout for alien/UFO decor. Many years go there was an Test Tube Alien inflatable but it’s no longer available, not even on the popular action sites at hugely inflated prices (sorry for the bad pun).
I’ve wanted that Test Tube alien for years so when I saw this one here on amazon I was ecstatic. My Test Tube Alien dream come true!
I immediately set it up and let it run all day/night on the deck. It is pretty tall at 7 feet. The fan is one of those small low voltage ones so it does take a while to fully inflate but lost no air while up.
The “glass” of the test tube is that thicker clear plastic that is also used on my older Joiedomi 8 foot UFO with the cow “beaming” up. This type of material can get brittle in the cold but fortunately this isn’t a Christmas inflatable.
Now unlike that 8 foot UFO which has 3 tethers for stability, this one only has 2 and they’re located at the top. There’s also only two loops on the bottom to secure this to the ground but it didn’t come with the usual metal stakes, only four large plastic ones.
Also, of the two tethers included one is much too short to even reach the ground! Fortunately I have extras but I shouldn’t have to use them.
What I really like is the lighting. Two green LED lights shine down on the alien from the top but it’s those flashing LED’S around the top and bottom of the tube that are really eye catching. I posted an evening video of the effect. It really does look like the alien is “floating” in the tube.
Time will tell how well this can handle the wind and pouring rain we get in October (I really do wish it had three tie downs)
But all in all, I like it and I think it’s worth the price. It’s a unique prop and will be a really cool addition to our alien display. I think it will be a hit with the neighborhood adults as well as the kids.

I love it, everything about the thing is awesome. Great touch for ceremonial vibe sessions. Active LED lights create a live and engaging experience. The test tube effect keeps you non stop smiling, with the alien able to move about with a little assistance by gently rocking it. This thing Towers over you so be sure to have sufficient room keep in mind I’m 6’3. Great deal for the money. Inflation takes roughly 5-8 minutes due to small fan motor. Deflation is about a minute or two due to the zipper on top. (BE SURE TO CLOSE ZIPPER PRIOR TO INFLATION). The motor I’m sure is design not to be over powered to preserve seams leading to longer lifespan. I am not easily “WOWED” but this thing has me laughing historically in disbelief upon full inflation. Also, I believe this is my second review ever on an Amazon product which I only do for well deserved products. I hope this review is helpful.
